Power your next move.
Build your own chess toolkit: a movement spark, a tactical tool, then a final surge. Choose an opponent to begin.

How powers work
Choose a movement upgrade before play (Spark), a one-use tool after Black’s sixth turn (Build), and another movement upgrade after Black’s twelfth turn (Surge). Both sides reveal their choices together. Permanent powers last for the game and stack. Activated cards have one use per game and consume your turn. Tap an owned card, then Use power and a highlighted target. Protect your king from every powered attack. A check created by a new power must be answered on that side’s next move.
You play White. Signed-in Power results and completed-game activity are saved to your account across devices. Unfinished board positions stay in this browser. Power games do not award training Elo. Threefold repetition and the 50-move rule automatically draw the game; choosing powers resets the 50-move count.
Connecting Power progress…
Meet all 24 power cards.
Keep your normal moves and add a new ability. Start with movement, add a one-use tool after Black’s turn 6, then expand your movement after Black’s turn 12. Activated powers count as turns too.
Permanent powers stack and apply to promoted pieces too. Activated cards have one use and consume a turn; the card shows when it has been used. Every move must still protect your king. Jump powers can cross occupied squares, but cannot land on your own piece.
