DevelopChess keeps the MVP deliberately simple.
Game data
When you analyze a game, its PGN, positions, and generated lesson are saved so your private report link can work. Do not paste private personal information into a PGN.
Analysis services
Chess positions are evaluated locally with Stockfish. Structured chess facts may be sent to the configured AI service to turn them into plain-English coaching.
Accounts and progress
You can use DevelopChess without an account. If you create one, we store your email, optional username and avatar, secured password, guided-game completions, and skill progress so your learning path works across devices.
Visit analytics
We use GoatCounter to measure visits on public product, comparison, about, privacy, and terms pages. Our integration sends the page path, complete URL query string, and the referrer supplied by your browser. It does not add account emails, PGNs, or private report IDs to analytics requests. It is disabled when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, and it is not loaded on saved reports, password-reset, account-deletion, API, or admin pages.
Account emails
We use your email for verification, password recovery, and important account messages. We do not sell your email address.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your DevelopChess account and associated data from the Delete account page in the app or at developchess.com/delete-account. This removes your account profile, authentication records, learning progress, training history, and connected notification devices. Short-lived infrastructure logs may remain until normal log rotation for security and abuse prevention.
